Born in Westfield, Massachusetts, Jonathan Loomis stepped forward to serve as a Private in the Hampshire County Massachusetts Militia under Captain Chapin and Colonel Gerrish. During his Revolutionary War service, Loomis participated in the vital Siege of Boston as well as the historic Battle of Bunker Hill under Captains James Clark and Roger Enos. He dedicated his service to defending Massachusetts and securing early American independence. Loomis lived to approximately 79 years of age and is officially recognized as an NSSAR and DAR Patriot Ancestor.
